Deputy Director (Education), School of Management, University College London, UKAlan is a Deputy Director (Education) and Professor of Financial Education in UCL School of Management. He is a qualified accountant x 2 (FCCA and ACMA/CGMA), with a Doctorate in Education (EdD), an MSc in Administrative Sciences, a Higher Education Teaching Certificate and an MA in Early Modern History. He has held Visiting Professor positions at several international universities. He specialises in Managerial Accounting, and Financial Management, and generic Accounting/Finance modules. He is a Faculty Adviser at Harvard Medical School. He is a Panel member of the ACCA Global Educators Forum. He is a Fellow of Centre for Online and Distance Education, University of London (since 2017), and a Fellow of Centre for Business and Economic Research UK (since 2022). His scholarship interests are accounting history, technology in education, and curriculum design/evaluation. In 2018 he received PQ Magazine’s Award for UK Public Sector Accountancy Lecturer of the Year.
