Dr. Terrence Blackman
Medgar Evers College, City University of New York (CUNY)Dr. Terrence Blackman is a distinguished number theorist and an Assistant Professor of Education Research, Policy, and Practice (Mathematics) at the University of Denver. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from Brooklyn College, CUNY, and went on to complete his MPhil and PhD in Mathematics at The Graduate School and University Center, CUNY. Dr. Blackman’s research explores the Jacquet-Langlands correspondence within the Langlands program, as well as diversity in mathematics and science. He is deeply committed to studying the teaching and learning of mathematics in urban, majority African-American communities. As the program leader for Legacy Pathways, he leverages technology, research, innovative methodologies, hands-on learning experiences, and best practices to foster lifelong learning.
Previously, as an MLK Visiting Assistant Professor, Dr. Blackman collaborated with Professor David Vogan and actively participated in the Department of Mathematics’ Lie Group and Number Theory seminars.
